Smartphone Below RM500???

Have you ever come across some advertisement that give promotion and they always put there "TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY"

During September this year, our PM announces that for Budget 2013, there is a rebate of RM200 for youth who purchases their SMARTPHONE. This have made many youths excited and can't wait to buy an I-Fong5....hmmm...what a smart plan huh?? But our PM did not describe the whole "Terms and Conditions" during the presentations of Budget 2013.... and nearly the end of 2012, when everyone check on the website of MCMC, ttaaahhh-ddaaahh.....the true picture finally revealed...and this is it:-

MCMC published the following criteria in its website:
  • Only applies to Malaysian citizens from the ages of 21-30;
  • Monthly income of RM3,000 and below;
  • Smartphone models below the price of RM500;
  • Each youth is only entitled to purchase one smartphone;
  • Customers can either use their existing mobile broadband or apply for new packages;

RM200 rebate only for smartphones below RM500

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has revealed that the RM200 smartphone rebate announced in Budget 2013 is only for smartphones priced below RM500.
MCMC published the following criteria in its website:
  • Only applies to Malaysian citizens from the ages of 21-30;
  • Monthly income of RM3,000 and below;
  • Smartphone models below the price of RM500;
  • Each youth is only entitled to purchase one smartphone;
  • Customers can either use their existing mobile broadband or apply for new packages;
According to the notice published yesterday, the rebate programme under the National Broadband Initiative (NBI) has been allocated a sum of RM300 million by the government which will benefit 1.5 million youths.
NONEApplications for the rebate are open from Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2013 and interested youths can apply through the MCMC website.
A blue stamp was visible at the right corner of the website that read Janji Ditepati, Mulai 1 Januari 2013, Budget 2013 (Promises Fulfilled from Jan 1, 2013, Budget 2013).
However, Malaysiakini found that the website has been inaccessible since this morning.
Criteria finalised
When contacted by Malaysiakini, MCMC compliance department assistant director Fairul Rizal confirmed that the criteria for the smartphone rebate displayed in their website have been finalised.
Fairul explained that the website has been taken down since today as some of its designs have to be modified.
“There are some adjustments that need to be made to the advertorial mock-up in the website… We need to remove the blue stamp that says ‘Janji Ditepati, Mulai 1 Januari 2013, Budget 2013′ as the management does not agree with the display of it on the website,” added Fairul, who is also a committee member of the Youth Communications Package that is responsible of the rebate implementation.
However, when asked on RM500 ceiling price placed on the rebate, Fairul refused to comment.
Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak on Sept 28 under Budget 2013, announced a rebate of RM200 for the purchase of one 3G smartphone for youths aged 21 to 30, with a monthly income of RM3,000 and below or without monthly income, from authorised dealers under the Youth Communications Package.

Meeting industr y players: Liow, accompanied by Food Quality and Safety senior director Noraini Mohd Othman, greeting participants after chairing the 11th National Food Safety and Nutrition Council meeting at his ministry in Putrajaya.
PUTRAJAYA: Food industry players have joined forces with the Health Ministry to combat obesity and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), pledging not to advertise food or drinks high in sugar, salt or fats.
Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers' (FMM) Food Manufacturing Group had volunteered to implement guidelines on limiting children's marketing exposure to foodstuff with little or no nutritional value.
“They have agreed to self-regulate. This is an industry pledge and they will work with advertising associations to make sure products that do not meet the criteria of nutritional value are not marketed to children aged 12 and below,” he said after chairing the 11th National Food Safety and Nutrition Council here yesterday.
The new guidelines were adopted from the global best practices outlined by the International Food and Beverage Alliance (IFBA), which promotes self-regulation among industry players by way of a formal pledge.
The Malaysian pledge requires only products that meet specific nutrition criteria to be advertised to children, on TV or other media.

The pledge also specifies that companies should not advertise food and drinks that contain high sugar, salt or fat content on TV, where 35% of its captive audience is made up of children.
Companies that take up the pledge also cannot promote products in primary schools, unless requested or agreed to by the school administration for educational or informative purposes.
Liow pointed out that the pledge was significant as it represented a step forward in the bid to “trim the fat” and deal with the growing rate of NCDs, such as diabetes and heart disease.
“As we can see from the statistics on such diseases, the figures are going up every year. We cannot wait... we cannot just continue to discuss the issue and not act. We have to fight obesity now,” he stressed.
FMM Food Group chairman Mohd Shah Hashim said the body was currently working out the mechanism to implement the pledge, which would require a clear understanding between food manufacturers and advertising/media agencies on what could and could not be promoted to children.
“We are targeting to implement this by the first quarter of next year, in collaboration with the Health Ministry.
“This covers all levels of media. Currently, the pledge applies to FMM members but in time we will have to bring the other industry players on board,” he said.

    STOP LYNAS : We Do Not Want Lynas SHIT

    Today Sin Chew Jit Poh, page 3-->

    The heading read:-
    "LYNAS: INTERNATIONAL REGULATION UNABLE TO SHIFT WASTE OUT; ALL WASTE WILL KEEP IN MALAYSIA FOR RECYCLE/BY-PRODUCT"

    Ehh??? Not so long ago wasn;t that SOMEONE we are going to shift all waste out meh?? I thought they also proposed shift to Indonesia or Thailand, looks like now our neighbor also don't want to keep 'NAJIS' from Malaysia eehh??

    The article also stated that "Lynas spent RM10 million to research for possibility of recycling the waste into commercial by-product" eeerrrr, excuse me, are you still doing RESEARCH ONLY? Which means, there won't be any recycling work at all right?? That's why you need to built a 'TEMPORARY" WASTE STORAGE in Perak to store your waste. If your research fail and the waste cannot be recycled, then you blame the GOD for not siding the people and it is faith that the people life to be in stake eehh??

    Yeah right, Lynas also invited PUBLIC (eerrr....or just a few people from the cronies group???) to touch the raw material with bare hands to prove that it is SAFE....please lar... that guy should use the WASTE as body mask powder for himself, then probably the people of Bolehland would give you a chance lar...diu
